Respect where it’s due!!!

David Gilmour

I’ve had a strange week here in the land of Mookey.  Work is getting increasingly busy, TF2 is going through a mind warp with me and I have listened to Pink Floyd all week.

Now some people might think listening to Pink Floyd is nothing new, but I’m 34 years old and have only just got it.  I listened to Echoes, Dark side of the moon and some of their early work and for the first time I get it.  I thought it was Hippy (no offence to Hippies!) music tripping off drugs, but it’s not.

I also watched on the BBC David Gilmour in Gdansk and thought “he’s a bloody good guitarist!” so I started watching more stuff, granted it was on Youtube.  So I wish to state I am a Pink Floyd believer and respect to them guys, who at the age of 60 something, Still Rock!!!!

Related to this pt 2!!!

I don’t get to see my Uncle Dave as much. Me being up here in Inverness and him, traveling the world being a star. So every now and then I like to try to catch up with the gossip on the web.

Found this little gem on the old YouTube and died in a little inside. Not too sure what it was though…. the attempt to get his legs up, falling in to the pool (doesn’t matter as he’s used to getting wet, being by the sea) or the fact he’s wearing a skin tight silver shimmer jumpsuit????? You decided!

George Carlin R.I.P

George Carlin died yesterday from heart problems, at the age of 71.  I remember him from Bill and Ted films but got to watch some of his stand up shows on dvd.

He might of been rude and crude but he spoke about normal simple things and will be sadly missed on the scene.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

To each and every one of you out there, Happy Valentines Day!!!!

If you never received anything, then don’t worry about it, nor did I and I have a boyfriend.

Instead, here are some interesting facts about Valentines Day:

  • Using the language of the law courts for the rituals of courtly love, a “High Court of Love” was established in Paris on Valentine’s Day in 1400. The court dealt with love contracts, betrayals, and violence against women. Judges were selected by women on the basis of a poetry reading
  • The day has come to be associated with a generic platonic greeting of “Happy Valentine’s Day.” As a joke, Valentine’s Day is also referred to as “Singles Awareness Day

So there you go. I’ll be stuffing my face with chocolate for the rest of the day, feeling sorry for myself.

Jeez it’s cold!!!

I was checking the weather forecast this morning. I knew it gets cold up here but I thought this was the extreme! -238c!!!!!

The past week it has rained ever single day It was so hard that the front of the hall was flooded and we had to use ramps to get in. Yesterday the weather got colder and instead of rain, we got snow.

This morning we had more snow so I took a walk up to the cross and took some pictures. I really wanted to go sledging but I don’t think there’s enough snow for a safe ride. There are too many mole hills that would be hit, especially by me!

I start my new job on Monday. So at least I’m getting out of the house and earning money again. No more wasting my days typing at the keyboard.

RIP Heath Ledger 1979 – 2008

Yesturday evening Heath Ledge passed away in New York. Leaving a 2 year old daughter and friends and family who love him dearly.

He was one of my favorite actors and thought he was going to be a great success with the new batman movie. I just wanted to say god bless Heath. He will be sadly missed by fans all around the world.

He died too soon.

RIP Heath Ledger

Scnee in the Sneck!!!!!!

Winter finally arrived today, when we had heavy snow fall. I was loving it although I don’t think the animals enjoyed it.

The day started dry and clear, which was a supprise as it never stopped raining. At around about 11 o’clock this morning it snowed. It snowed for 4 hours, non stop. It was fantastic!!!! I put on my new Snow Boots and my funky long socks. We helped Gran feed the sheep, as they had moved to the top of the field. There are lots of trees up there, so they were sheltering from the snee.

After that, we walked with Gran back to her house. Where we had a few cups of Tea with cake and Pizza. Then off we went back to Chapel House. By now the snow had stopped and we watched the sun set over the white topped mountains. It was so beautiful, as the red sky reflected off the white and the red glow shone through everything.

We then went back to the end of the field and fed the sheep some more. Put the chicken and ducks away in their houses, and restocked the house with coal and kindle. This country life is hard work, but I’m loving it.

I made pictures!!!!

Now the holiday season has finished I have started working on my art/pictures to get ideas together for websites. I have found some really cool brushes and symbols that work with Illustrator.

I’ve put up a few test pictures that I have been playing with. I am building Tom’s Mother a website for Chapel House, hence all the flower power ideas. Trese runs a retreat for people here in Stratherrick and will soon be a charity.

Any way, I like them and I’m off to make some more!!! I feel like a kid again with a new toy!!

Happy New Year 2008!

Just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope you had a good celebration! Tom and I stayed at The Ranch and watch the firework display that Frankie and Wee Tom did.

The weather was quite cold and misty but we had a lot of fun dodging the rock sticks as they come back down to earth!
