Winter finally arrived today, when we had heavy snow fall. I was loving it although I don’t think the animals enjoyed it.
The day started dry and clear, which was a supprise as it never stopped raining. At around about 11 o’clock this morning it snowed. It snowed for 4 hours, non stop. It was fantastic!!!! I put on my new Snow Boots and my funky long socks. We helped Gran feed the sheep, as they had moved to the top of the field. There are lots of trees up there, so they were sheltering from the snee.
After that, we walked with Gran back to her house. Where we had a few cups of Tea with cake and Pizza. Then off we went back to Chapel House. By now the snow had stopped and we watched the sun set over the white topped mountains. It was so beautiful, as the red sky reflected off the white and the red glow shone through everything.
We then went back to the end of the field and fed the sheep some more. Put the chicken and ducks away in their houses, and restocked the house with coal and kindle. This country life is hard work, but I’m loving it.
Now the holiday season has finished I have started working on my art/pictures to get ideas together for websites. I have found some really cool brushes and symbols that work with Illustrator.
I’ve put up a few test pictures that I have been playing with. I am building Tom’s Mother a website for Chapel House, hence all the flower power ideas. Trese runs a retreat for people here in Stratherrick and will soon be a charity.
Any way, I like them and I’m off to make some more!!! I feel like a kid again with a new toy!!
Just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope you had a good celebration! Tom and I stayed at The Ranch and watch the firework display that Frankie and Wee Tom did.
The weather was quite cold and misty but we had a lot of fun dodging the rock sticks as they come back down to earth!
Today Hercy, David Adam, Tom, Poppy and myself went for a walk up the Suidhe, a short distance by car from Tom’s house. We went to watch the sunset and my god it was beautiful!!
We were looking over Loch Ness and could see above the mist that was covering the area. There were stags drinking from a small watering hole nearby too. Never got a photo of it though.
Poppy had a great time sliding around on the iced pounds. Although after a while she was getting her footing and playing fetch with peoples gloves. It was amazing up there and although it was a little cold, I enjoyed the climb.
I was killing some time and found this on YouTube!
Dave is my uncle, via my Mothers side. Man, they say I’m the mad one!!!
Well I have managed to get my butt up the road (on the train) to Inverness. So far, it has rained every single day but we did get a break in the weather. There is also snow on them there hills and it is so quiet.
The picture is, in theory my back garden. The sun was setting and a mist coming over the fields.
Tom was having to get some wood for the stove so I took some photos.
It’s so nice up here, the pace of life is so different to Edinburgh and I can see the stars on a clear night.
On the Saturday night, we went out to The Kitchen to celebrate Toms Mum’s birthday. It was a nice venue and the food was fantasic.
The rest of the week has been getting my stuff organised and changing my address. Oh the joys of moving house!!
